On Friday 12 June, 24 awards went to a variety of companies for their successes within their employee benefits structures at the 13th annual Employee Benefits Awards.
Categories vary widely, from ‘Best financial education strategy’ to ‘Best benefits communications’, alongside the much-coveted ‘Best employee share schemes’ category. All winners demonstrated their commitment to effective employee benefits structures, with Royal Mail scooping the trophy for its implementation of a SIP and SAYE following its move into listed status.
Royal Mail used a wide range of communications to engage its 145,000 employee base, including its TV channel, intranet and extranet, monthly newspaper, online live chat, Freephone helpline and face-to-face briefings.
The judges said: “The scale of its strategy, which spanned its entire workforce, and its results are commendable. Its communications approach is great, too.”
The winner said: “We had great engagement among employees and there was a great sense of pride around being shareholders in the company which generated enthusiasm particularly for the save-as-you-earn scheme where they had to contribute…”
Worthy of a mention is also BT Group, receiving a highly commended award for its BT saveshare and directshare plans.
Congratulations to all of the winners of the Employee Benefits Awards 2015!
